On February 13, 2012, the Board of Commissioners selected the range of alternatives to be analyzed in the Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS). The selection of the range of alternatives in the SEIS used a combination of information points, including, but not limited to the preliminary alternatives released in January 2012, as well as public comment the preliminary alternatives, capital facilities costs and much more.
The proposed alternatives are for the Kingston, Silverdale, Central Kitsap, East Bremerton, West Bremerton, Gorst, ULID# 6/McCormick Woods and Port Orchard/South Kitsap Urban Growth Areas (UGAs)
These draft SEIS alternatives will test different density trends, land capacity assumptions, UGA boundaries, capital facilities needs and other land use policy considerations. A draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement will be available late May or early June 2012.
Following another series of public open houses and discussions on the Draft SEIS alternatives, the Board of Commissioners will hold public hearings in June/July 2012. Following, these public discussions and comment opportunities, the Board will then select a preferred alternative to be analyzed and ultimately adopted in a Final SEIS.
