Kitsap Transit has scheduled neighborhood meetings to inform Rich Passage-area residents of its plans. They are:
- Monday at Blakely Elementary library, 4704 Blakeley Ave., on Bainbridge Island;
- Tuesday at Kitsap Regional Library, 1301 Sylvan Way in Bremerton,
- Thursday at Elim Lutheran Church, 5911 East Hillcrest Drive in Port Orchard. All run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The low-wake research vessel Rich Passage will make two round trips during the morning commute and two in the afternoon. It will depart Bremerton at 5:35 a.m. and 7:12 a.m. and arrive in Seattle at 6:10 a.m. and 7:50 a.m. The second boat will appeal to those needing to clock in at 8 a.m. The morning return trips leave Seattle at 6:20 a.m. and 7:55 a.m. and arrive at 6:55 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., which should work for reverse commuters bound for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
In the evening, the ferry sails from Bremerton at 4:25 p.m. and 5:55 p.m., arriving in Seattle at 5 p.m. and 6:35 p.m., and departs Seattle at 5:07 p.m. and 6:43 p.m., reaching Bremerton at 5:45 p.m. and 7:18 p.m.
The crossing will take about 35 minutes.
