Kitsap County Boundary Review Board meets on Silverdale incorporation boundaries

The Kitsap County Boundary reviewboard met on Wed to review the proposed Silverdale incorporation boundaries. Consideration by the board is one of the steps required by law in the incorporation process. The four-member panel is deciding whether to recommend that Silverdale be incorporated, and it can adjust the proposed boundaries, making them larger or smaller, by up to 10 percent.

Regardless of the board’s decision, the matter will go before voters living within incorporation boundaries at an election date to be determined.

The board agreed to continue the hearing to gather information from county officials overseeing the urban growth area remand, especially with regard to the Olympic View area boundary.

Written public testimony will be accepted until the Boundary Review Board’s next meeting, at 7 p.m. June 14 at the Kitsap County Administration Building in Port Orchard. Submit testimony via email to cgourley@co.kitsap.wa.us or call 360-337-5694.
