Planning Commission Hearings on Kitsap Comprehensive Plan Update

The Kitsap County Planning Commission has announced that they will be holding  a series of Public Hearings on the Kitsap County Comprehensive Plan Update. The Comprehensive Plan documents are available here: http://compplan.kitsapgov.com/Pages/home.aspx

Topics will include; the Comprehensive Plan Goals and Policies document, the Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement, the Final Capital Facilities Plan and proposed Title 17 Development Regulations. The Public Hearings will be held on the following dates:

  • May 10: Public Hearing Comprehensive Plan Kitsap County Administration Building Commissioner’s Chambers 619 Division Street, Port Orchard, WA at 3 pm
  • May 12: Public Hearing Comprehensive Plan (City of Poulsbo Chambers) at 5 pm
  • May 13; Public Hearing  Comprehensive Plan Kitsap County Administration Building Commissioner’s Chambers 619 Division Street, Port Orchard, WA at 4 pm

The 5/13/2016 Planning Commission Hearing will specifically pertain to the differences between the Comprehensive Plan draft code dated April 6, 2016 and the draft code dated April 28, 2016.

STAFF REPORT – Comprehensive Plan Update 2016-2036 (Apr 29, 2016)

Key changes between the earlier and later drafts relate to the addition of code revisions for “reasonable measures”, which are proposed in response to a recent Growth Management Hearings Board order. Other modifications in the later draft included removing a proposed change to density calculation methodology, and removal of specific zoning categories from the use tables.
